To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Plastikman’s acid techno masterpiece Sheet One has been remastered from the original tapes and reissued on vinyl via Mute and NovaMute.
Released in 1993 on NovaMute, a subsidiary label of Mute, this album marked the debut of Richie Hawtin’s Plastikman alias. Thirty years later, Sheet One stands as a landmark in the field of electronic music—reshaping what the genre could be and become.
The album, which introduced one of techno’s most recognizable logos, gained some notoriety for its perforated artwork inspired by acid blotter sheets. Musically, it focuses on laser-precise minimalist rhythms driving a series of echo box acid lines that intensify throughout the album’s tracks, with frequent use of the Roland TB-303—a machine that rose to prominence in electronic music as a staple of the Chicago acid house scene. Hawtin once perfectly described Sheet One in an interview with MusicRadar, saying:
”…It’s music for the end of the party as you’re melting into the floor, which is exactly what the name Plastikman was meant to represent.”
This seminal album helped establish the blueprint for minimalist techno and is essential listening for fans of electronic music.

Returns
Returns will be accepted for up to 14 days of Customer’s receipt or tracking number on unworn items. You, as a Customer, are obliged to inform us via email before you return the item, only in the case of:
- Received the wrong item
- Item arrived not as expected (ie. damaged packaging)
- Item had defects
The returned product(s) must be in the original packaging, safety wrapped, undamaged and unworn. This means that the item(s) must be safely packed in a carton box for protection during transport, possibly the same carton used to ship to you as a customer.
