Rafael Parratoro is a Venezuelan-Argentinian artist born in 1977, a pioneer in the art of augmented reality. His work combines kinetic and optical art with 3D technology, generating immersive and interactive experiences. With a background in hydraulic engineering, he applies mathematical principles and programming to create optical illusions through the moiré effect, exploring movement, light and visual perception.

His work has been exhibited internationally in countries such as Argentina, Mexico, the United States, Germany, China and Italy, establishing him as an innovative figure in contemporary art.

Among his most outstanding projects are the mapping intervention on the Obelisk in Buenos Aires in 2017, commemorating the 30th anniversary of Garrahan Hospital, and his participation in Lollapalooza Argentina 2022, where he presented his artistic vision on a large scale. He has also collaborated in events such as LGBT Pride Week at the US Embassy, his book POP ON OP (2016) and has presented his work at the Latin American Photo Library (FoLa).

Through his work, Parratoro redefines the boundaries between art, technology and perception, inviting the viewer to be an active part of the work and challenging traditional forms of interaction with art.
